* Who We’ve Helped

Kenny Bello

The Business

Ignite American Football provides American football training, through non-contact flag football, to youth groups in the UK.

From teacher to trainer

With four years of experience as a primary school teacher, Kenny decided that he wanted to combine his passion for education with his passion for American football.

“Being a former member of the Great Britain American Football Team I’ve always had a passion for the sport. Add to this my love for teaching; it made sense that that starting my own business and becoming an entrepreneur was the way to go.”

Expanding the team

Initially self-funding the idea and having success with it, after selling his programmes to various schools, Kenny needed money to expand the business.

“I needed funding to train up more coaches and broaden the company’s reach. I got in contact with Bright Ideas Trust after doing some research on Start Up Loans. It’s safe to say that the team has been very helpful in securing my funding for me and have provided me with new ideas to explore. A great help!”

Taking it nationwide

Similarly to other entrepreneurs who start their own business, Kenny has big dreams for the future.

“I want to become the premier provider of youth and adult flag football training in the UK. Plus, I want to create leagues and tournaments where all our students and team members can get involved and educate others on how great American Football is!”
