This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Beneficiary Manager to work in an exciting and high profile organisation founded and headed by Tim Campbell, the first winner of the BBC's The Apprentice.
Bright Ideas Trust (BIT) is a dynamic London based charity committed to empowering disadvantaged 16-30 year olds through business mentoring and coaching support to start their own business.
They offer a comprehensive business support package consisting of funding, business mentors, education programmes and access to a wide range of pro bono professional advisors for help with legal, accountancy, marketing and other specialist areas.
Due to their continued growth they are now looking for a Beneficiary Manager who will be responsible for working with BIT’s growing portfolio of supported businesses to ensure they are fully supported with funding, mentors and advisors and that they make the optimum use of BIT’s business support package.
The Role
The Beneficiary Manager is a dynamic and hands role and it will include:
• Working closely with Beneficiaries to identify their key business needs and matching these with the appropriate skills and resources available from the BIT business support package
• Keeping in regular contact with the beneficiary companies to ensure that they meet their contractual requirements to BIT; such as ensuring they provide regular reports to BIT management
• Working closely with the Donor and Supporter Manager in sourcing, briefing and monitoring mentors, advisors and other resources to support the Beneficiary organisations
• Working with beneficiary companies to identify and look for ways of improving their performance and maximising returns for them and BIT
The Candidate
• Educated to Degree level (or equivalent)
• Experience of supporting small businesses to start and grow, with an understanding of the challenges that they face and how these might be overcome. (Experience of running a small business would also be beneficial)
• Ability to balance commercial/venture capitalist disciplines to portfolio management with a more flexible and softer approach
• Ability to influence with a persuasive and polite manner, particularly with young people
• Proactive and forward thinking; able to use own initiative and create ideas to benefit BIT
• Ability to work with considerable latitude, pursuing self-initiated activities with minimal direction
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the gravitas to communicate at all levels
