White Knot focuses on creating eye-catching and memorable designs for all things related to wedding stationery.
From design agency employee to design entrepreneur
Having started White Knot in 2011, Sarah’s journey began when she decided to boldly change career.
“After years of working in a corporate design agency I moved into the wedding industry. It was a fantastic move for me as I fully immersed myself in producing eye catching and memorable designs for those after something special. I have always been very passionate about great design which is why I am always challenging myself to find new and innovative ways of bringing information to life.”
The orders kept coming
After trading on a small scale Sarah began to receive more orders and realised that additional funding was needed to take the business forward.
“It was through searching my local council’s website that I came across Bright Ideas Trust. From the moment they replied to my enquiry I felt encouraged and was offered to attend a free business workshop. In short, they provided me with the business resources to help me establish my own startup. The main area of support I found useful was learning about balance sheets and cash flow forecasts which I knew nothing about.”
The future is bright
With the success of her “Will you be my bridesmaid?” balloon cards; Sarah is currently in the process of designing a new range of White Knot balloon greetings cards to be launched during 2014. With this range and her brand new e-commerce site set to launch in summer 2014, there are exciting times ahead for White Knot.
